Tenka No Goiken Ban - January 1, 1629, the Shogun's relatives and high ranking Daimyo Lords visit Edo Castle to offer their New Year's respects.
The next day is for the lower ranking Lords and the Hatamoto retained by the Shogun to do the same. Lord Inaba, who had recently switched loyalties from the losing Toyotomi side to that of the Tokugawa was rudely greeted in front of the main castle gate by one of the Shogun's retainers, who threw the Lord and his palanquin into the Edo Castle moat.
