Description:
Kurenai Gonpachi is a Ronin with a bright future as a swordsman after defeating Munakata-sensei the fencing instructor for the Lord of Himeji during an exhibition match.
Unfortunately some of Munakata's students feel that their sensei was defeated by a possessed sword and not by swordsmanship and decide to ambush Gonpachi during the dark of night. When Munakata attempts to stop the fighting he is mistakenly killed by Gonpachi who flees from the numerous assassins unaware that sensei was involved.
Not knowing what Gonpachi even looks like, two brothers of one of the slain students, and Hiroe, the daughter of Munakata, seek a vendetta and give chase. While in the town of Edo, Gonpachi saves Hiroe from a band of drunken Samurai and romance quickly blossoms. But is it a bittersweet romance of two people who cannot be together under any circumstance?
Can Boss Hanakado of Edo halt the endless bloodshed, stop the vendetta and allow Gonpachi and Hiroe the opportunity to live their lives together?
