You are bidding on an authentic Hermes tie from my own collection.
About Me: I am a fashion journalist and editorialist both online for The New York Sartorialist (www.nysartorialist.com) and globally in various print publications.
I've been fortunate to pick up a lot of nice pieces over the years (and continue to); between more frequent travel and moving- its time to downsize my overgrown collection.
There are a number of fakes being sold everywhere, so beware. Most knock-offs are made from taking an original, sending it overseas where they take it apart and use cheap materials and labor to make inferior copies. If you know what to look for you can easily spot a fake- even a "good" one. Fortunately, my items were either bought from the manufacturer or where I know the source.
Width & Length: Historically, tie widths have moved between the extremes of extra wide to extra narrow. In a classic sense, widths that range from 3 1/8 to 3 7/8 have always remained fashionable without becoming fashion victims like fat or narrow ties have. Ideally, the tie width will be the same (or close) to the jacket's lapel width. Lengths vary and have become longer in recent years. As men are wearing pants more on their hips instead of their natural waist, longer ties have been necessary to reach the appropriate tied length ending at the belt level.

Color and Pattern: Light Yellow with Flowers
The colored block you find the model number in is the color Hermes feels would compliment the tie perfectly, usually as a shirt color to wear the tie with- also possibly a jacket color. This by no means is the only color the tie will compliment well with- just a thoughtful bit of help for those who are not confident of where to begin combining colors.

Condition: This tie is in excellent condition, I've probably worn it once- no more than twice. Free from any spots, stains or pulls. No visible signs of wear- without the accompanying high price.
