Stamp Authenticity Since 1939 till 1990 Lithuania suffered 3 occupations: 1 German (1941-1944) and 2 Soviet (1939-1941, 1944-1990), one of which lasted 46 years. In WWII occupations were based on violent battles between Germans and Russians. These historical events left a lot of stuff behind them selves. Almost every family in Lithuania has something left, related to USSR history in their forgotten drawers. So we are just traveling around lithuanian countrysides and collecting this memorabilia. Item is original, genuine, authentic, unique, not a copy or replica - has 2-12 decades of it's own unique history.
Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, perennial plants native to Mexico, Central America, and Colombia. There at least 36 species of Dahlia. Dahlia hybrids are commonly grown as garden plants. The Aztecs gathered and cultivated the dahlia for food, ceremony, as well as decorative purposes [1], and the long woody stem of one variety was used for small pipes. In 1872 a box of Dahlia roots were sent from Mexico to the Netherlands. Only one plant survived the trip, but produced spectacular red flowers with pointed petals. Nurserymen in Europe bred from this plant, which was named Dahlia juarezii with parents of Dahlias discovered earlier and these are the progenitors of all modern Dahlia hybrids. Ever since, plant breeders have been breeding Dahlias to produce thousands of cultivars, usually chosen for their stunning and brightly coloured flowers. Dahlia plants range in height from as low as 12" (30cm) to as tall as 6-8 feet (180-240cm). The flowers can be as small as 2" (5 cm) or up to a foot (30 cm) in diameter. The great variety results from Dahlias being octoploids (they have eight sets of homologous chromosomes, whereas most plants have only two). Dahlias are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Angle Shades, Common Swift, Ghost Moth and Large Yellow Underwing. The dahlia is named after Swedish 18th-century botanist Anders Dahl. Until recently they were also named in Germany as "georgine" by the botanist Carl Ludwig Willdenow, after the naturalist Johann Gottlieb Georgi of St. Petersburg. cultivarDahlia 'Dahlstar Sunset Pink' is a miniature Dahlia cultivar with pink flowers that shade to yellow in the centre. Height and spread are 15 cm. Bloom formsThe "American Dahlia Society" recognizes 19 distinct bloom forms:

The Spasskaya Tower (Russian: Спасская башня, translated as "Savior Tower") is the main tower with a through-passage on the eastern wall of the Moscow Kremlin, which overlooks the Red Square. The Spasskaya Tower was built in 1491 by an Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari. Initially, it was named the Frolovskaya Tower after the Church of Frol and Lavr in the Kremlin (it is no longer there). The tower's modern name comes from the icon of Spas Nerukotvorny (Divine Savior), which was placed above the gates in 1658 (no longer there). The Spasskaya Tower was the first one to be crowned with the hipped roof in 1624-1625 by architects Bazhen Ogurtsov and Christopher Galloway (a Scottish architect and clockmaker). According to a number of historical accounts, the clock on the Spasskaya Tower appeared between 1491 and 1585. It is usually referred to as the Kremlin clock (Кремлёвские куранты). In 1935, the Soviets installed a red star on top of the Spasskaya Tower. The height of the tower with the star is 71 m.
