Custom made POLYURETHANE Cylinder
This listing is for one 3/4 inch diameter SOLID POLYURETHANE CYLINDER 6 inches long.
This Polyurethane is easily turned on a lathe. It can be drilled, tapped and threaded. It is useful for any repair that needs to appear as if it is ivory. It has been used in
making a black powder measurers, in jewelry making, scrimshaw, custom
inlay, pen blanks, reel seats, custom knobs, duck calls, and many, many
more unique products. This material works easily and will polish very nicely with 3M
automotive refinishers polish. It has the look and feel of real BONE,
not plastic.
If
you are making multiple purchases, please don't pay until we send a
combined invoice. We calculate shipping by the combined weight and the
invoice will not be correct if you do not wait for the corrected
invoice.
This is a custom made item and there is no standing inventory. It will be created to your specifications after your purchase. Each item is poured to order. The AVERAGE ship time is 10 business days from receipt of payment.
Any photo in ANY of my listings represents the prototype of the
ORIGINAL. Because this is a custom made item, eBay policy allows you to
have choices in color.
The default color is Natural which is a cream or off
white color very similar to ivory. The Natural color will ship unless I
am notified. Aged Ivory is also available. Aged
is more yellow as true aged ivory becomes over time. If you are
requesting Aged Ivory please send me an eBay message.
Depending
on your monitor or my photo service, the item you receive may look
slightly different in color from the listing photo. We
offer CYLINDERS in diameters from 3 inches down to 1/2 inch as well as
lathe turning stock from 1.5 inches down to 1/2 inch square and 6" long.
Please see my store listings for OVER 36 Knife Scales, Cylinders and other Poly products as well as many CUSTOM IMPRINTED ITEMS.
Take a look at the second photo in this listing. This is one of my pen blanks turned into a most elegant pen by master craftsman James Mitchell. The pen uses Copper hardware for a Nautical look. James also scrimshawed the Pelican on the Faux Ivory Sperm Whale Tooth.
The third and forth photos show a Gabrieli Pipe created by master carver Dan Chlebove. Dan uses my Polyurethane for the spacers in his elegant pipes. The other two photos show remarkably detailed Duck Calls made with this material by Jack "Pappy" Lewis.
My polyurethane was also used by master carver Jenny Anderson in the creation of the first ever polyurethane HITTY DOLL.
I wish to extend a personal thank you to all these artisans for using my Polyurethane.
