It is NOT a REAL tooth. It is FAUX (IMITATION) IVORY.
The original tooth was harvested long before the ban on whaling
and no living whale was harmed in the cloning of this tooth.
The dimensions of the tooth are 5" x 1 7/8" x 1 1/2".
It is not hollow. It is solid polyurethane.
I have added three photos showing the Scrimshaw of James Marshall. The tooth shown is a copy of one of the ones he generously loaned me to clone (copy).
These photos are intended to show what can be scrimshawed onto the poly and are not part of the purchase.
This is a custom made item and there is no standing
inventory. It will be created to your specifications after your
purchase. Each item is poured to order. The AVERAGE
ship time is 10 business days from receipt of payment.
Any photo in ANY of my
listings represents the prototype of the ORIGINAL.
Because this is a custom
made item, eBay policy allows you to have choices in color.
The default color is Natural which is
a cream or off white color very similar to ivory. The Natural color
will ship unless I am notified.
Aged Ivory is also available.
Aged is more yellow as true aged ivory becomes over time. If you are
requesting Aged Ivory please send me an eBay message.
Depending on your monitor or my photo
service, the item you receive may look slightly different in color from the
listing photo.
