Another Treasure from Whistlinpoint!

  This auction is for an 18" Starrett No 98 Machine Level in excellent condition:

Starrett No, 98 Mechanics' Improved Levels have a ground and

graduated main vial. All sizes have a cross test vial 

and the 18 inch

size a double plumb vial. Plumb vials on 18” Levels are

ground.

The main vials are adjustable to positive setting and are housed in

a satin chrome brass tube with a friction fit closing cover, to prevent

breakage.

The level bases are made of finest quality seasoned castings with

black wrinkle finish, accurately machined and finished on the bearing

surface. An involute longitudinal groove between flats provides

accurate seating on the round work, such as shafting, etc. This

groove has a special involute design permitting better centering and

greater capacity to handle larger rounds. Groove and bearing flats

are machined in one setting for maximum accuracy.

With the cross test level, it is possible to level simultaneously in

both directions to prevent inaccuracies in main vial reading thru

canting the level sidewise on round work.

NEW: Never used. In original packaging with all known accessories. 


LIKE NEW: Shows little to no signs of use. Works perfectly. May not include all accessories or original packaging. 


EXCELLENT: Shows some obvious signs of use, though appears to be well taken care of. May have some scratches or nicks to outer finish. May not include accessories.  All sign of wear are cosmetic and do not affect functionality. 


VERY GOOD: More noticeable signs of use or wear on the item. May have some minor dings, dents or scratches. Item is tested and works well. 


GOOD: Very noticeable signs of use or wear on the item. May have some dings, dents or corrosion. Most of the damage is cosmetic and has only minor affects on usage. The item is not to be considered in perfect working order. 


FAIR: Item is heavily used with many signs of wear and some functional issues. Functional issues are accounted for in the item's description. Item is considered to be working but may require additional parts or repair to be fully functional.

Shipping and Handling:  I'll send this item to you within 5 business days of receiving your payment.   I will send it Priority Mail or by UPS ground.  If you happen to be the buyer of another item I may be selling, I will combine the items, if possible, in an effort to save you some money.

 

Returns:While I hate to lose money, I will refund your money, if  you send a new item back within 7 days after you receive it, in the same condition in which I sent it.   If the item is pre-owned or is used, returns will be granted on a case by case basis.
