DescriptionThe Chicago Bears became charter members of the National Football League in 1920. The Bears, who were originally known as the Staleys, were owned by former New York Yankee George Halas. Prior to the merger with American Football League the Bears would win 8 NFL titles. In 1958 the Bears finished second with an 8 – 4 record, playing their home games at Wrigley Field.
