Momo - Makes steering wheels for Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Ferrari, .., Alpina, Hella, ..
It all began with a passion for motor racing. One day Giampiero Moretti, amateur racing driver, had a friend of his make a very special steering wheel for his racing car. It was smaller than the normal ones used but what was most original about it was the handgrip, a very large handgrip that offered a much better hold, making the car easier to handle and drive. This odd steering wheel attracted the attention of many racing drivers, among them John Surtees of Ferrari. The English driver tried it, was enthusiastic, and had it mounted on his single-seater Formula One racing car.

That was a happy year for Surtees and Ferrari, who won the F.1 championship, and also for Morettis steering wheel, which had its share of the glory. Requests for it began to pour in, and what had started as a passion grew into a business.

In 1966 a plant in Tregnano, near Verona in Italy, was opened to produce these steering wheels, giving birth to Momo (Moretti-Monza). The first order was from Ferrari, who had decided to use MOMO steering wheels on all its racing cars. With this formidable start, Momo began to scale the international market. On the one hand Momo diversified production and on the other it broadened its steering wheel range. It also started to produce light alloy wheels. The importance of design in the success of Momo products led to the creation of a separate division, Momo Design, in 1982, and in 1983 Momo Corse started up, specializing in the production and distribution of high technology racing accessories.

Nardi/Personal -  Makes steering wheels for Bmw, Maserati, Lotus, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Subaru, Mazda, .. It is the original supplier for Ferrari.

Nardi is widely known for its established reputation as a steering wheel manufacturer of the highest quality. With a history that spans over 70 years, Nardi has been supplying their brand products not only to the world's leading automakers but also to racing enthusiasts worldwide. The company has made considerable investments in past and recent years to consolidate itself with a reputation second to none. Nardi designers and engineers collaborate using state-of-the-art technology, to ensure optimized ergonomics, comfort and reliability. Yet the level of craftsmanship involved in the manufacturing process is still, in fact, very much a traditional process where every steering wheel is assembled and finished by highly skilled artisans.
Nardi was the first company in the world to understand the effective contribution steering wheel design could make to car control. While leading the way with their refined tasteful styling, they continue to innovate, delivering steering wheels that meet the highest of driver demands.

Based in Italy, Nardi was founded by Enrico Nardi, who moved to Modena in 1937 to become Ferrari's first test driver and then a business consultant.

In 1946 he founded together with Renato Danese (a racing car driver from Rome) a company named "ND".

In 1958 he restarted the cooperation with Enzo Ferrari: Mr. Ferrari was used to always pay a great attention to details of his cars. This is why most of Ferrari cars were equipped with Nardi steering wheels.

Two years after Enrico Nardi's death, Nardi trademark was bought from Personal and, in 1990, Nardi Italia S.p.A. was founded as a completely autonomous company, located in Abbiate Guazzone - Tradate (Varese) - Italy.

The production is based both on sporty steering wheels under the Personal trademark and classic steering wheels with Nardi trademark.

These two trademarks, during the years have been chosen as supplier of the most important car manufacturers as Ferrari, Lancia, Audi, Maserati, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Lotus, TVR, McLaren, Volkswagen, Abarth and BMW.
