Limited Edition! Only 100,000 of the 1999 Georgia Official First Day Coin Covers will be produced. This wonderful collector's item features two Georgia quarters from the first day of mintage -- July 12, 1999. Each cover includes quarters from both the Philadelphia and Denver mint facilities on a handsome display card with a 33-cent Flag over City postage stamp. The postmark of August 2, 1999 in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, marks the day the first Georgia quarters were released to the Federal Reserve Bank and to the public. The design of the Georgia quarter prominently features the peach - a symbol long associated with the state - within the confines of a silhouetted outline of the state. Live Oak sprigs border the central design paying homage to the official state tree, the Live Oak. The state motto of "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation," graces a banner across the top of the coin. This coin cover is SEALED from the US Mint, in it's original cardboard shipping container. This set has never been "examined", as it has never been opened, by anyone to determine if it could be a 'keeper', or to be graded for condition or error. The right picture (below) is a 'file' picture from the US Mint to illustrate what the cover looks like.
