1908 Postcard ~ LEAP YEAR ~ PIANO PROPOSAL ~ Message of the Music
This comical postcard, according to the back of the card, is from the “Leap Year Series”. This postcard features a woman hiding behind the curtains with the following message under her: “The Piano Proposal or the Message of the Music”. The message above the piano is: “TRY THIS ON YOUR PIANO It will Catch him in 1908”. On top of the piano is a picture of Oscar. Oscar is the man standing in front of the piano who says “Maybe it’s a coincidence; but it certainly looks suspicious!” On the piano is a bunch of sheet music with the following titles: I’m so Lonesome; Just can’s make my eyes behave!; Dreaming; Way down in my heart I’ve get a feeling for you!; I’m wearing my heart away For You!; Don’t you think its time to marry?; Everybody’s in Slumberland buy You and I!; and Every Little bit Helps. There is a logo in the front bottom left corner that shows a woman chasing a man – there is a postcard number in the front bottom left corner of “1059”.
