Antique Oak Ladies Sewing Rocker Mfg. by P.Derby and Co. NYC Between 1900-1930
Measures-36" x 16 1/2" x 15 1/2" Rocker Legs 28" and sits 16 1/2" from ground.
Here we have a antique rocker, very comfortable to sit in and relax while rocking.HAS THE ORIGINAL LABEL ON THE BOTTOM.
The chair has an old seat over the caning area, although I am not sure what the material is,it is very sturdy only missing a couple of push pins.Otherwise the chair is in very nice condition, rocks smoothly, and sturdy when rocking.Has all the natural patina for being almost a 100 Years old, age, color, use, scratches, etc.
It would make a nice addition to any decor. As to refinishing back to its originality,I leave that up to the buyer. Also if you want to recane it.
P.Derby founded in 1863,and out of business in1935,In 1897 it was listed as the 2nd largest chair mfg. in the U.S. This Co. specialized in cane chairs,as well as other types of furniture. This type of chair has a good retail value.
Thank you for looking.
