The Gulleted Edge is coated with a Permanently Bonded
Tungsten Carbide Grit. The Gulleted Edge increases cutting pressure and allows the cut
material to be removed .They are designed to take serious abuse and will outlast any
conventional Hole Saw, they can be used in corded or cordless Drills and even SDS
Drills and are built and designed to cut both with or without Full Hammer Action. They
can even cut in both directions, they have a high heat and abrasion resistance, they
are much tougher than Bi Metal Hole Saws and they have no teeth to chip or dull like
Regular and even Carbide Tipped Hole Saws.
These Holesaws leave a fine finish and can
cut through tough abrasive materials like Brick, Masonry, Slate, Marble, Ceramic Wall
Tiles, Siding, Hardie Board, Construction Materials such as Autoclaved Cement Board,
Fibre Glass, Composite Boards such as Chipboard and MDF, Laminates, Rubber Tires Tyres,
GRP, CFRP, Hardwood Flooring, Laminate Flooring, Plasterboard / Drywall, Soft Resinous
Woods and Hard Brittle Materials. Great for Boat Building.
Blades Can be reversed and wire brushed
clean to increase life span.
Applying water to the cutting edge whilst running
with squirty bottle will
minimize dust and keep the cutting tool cool and increase the life span of the cutting
edge.
Important Keep Water and
fluids away from Electrical Tools and Devices!!!
Always wear Safety Glasses when Using Any
Tool
Many of the applications that these saw blades are used
for would bind and load up, or wear out the teeth on traditional toothed
blades.

are TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) After All What’s the point having a
Hole Saw that can cut through Brick and Tile if the Pilot Drill Cannot?
Questions and
Answers
Q: What
is an Arbor / Mandrel?
A: Some people call it a Mandrel and some
call it an Arbor, this is the device that you put in your Electric Drill and the Hole
Saw attaches onto it, it has a Pilot Drill that starts drilling before the Hole Saw
reaches the material in order to center it and steady it, Pilot Drills are usually HSS
High Speed Steel Not Ours though, we have 2 Types , we have TCT Tungsten Carbide Tipped
which looks like a regular Drill but there is a Piece of Solid Tungsten carbide in
a Pentagon shape slotted and welded into the point, this allows it to be used with or
without a Hammer Drill and cut through tougher materials like Brick, we also have Spear
Point Tile Drill Pilots- these are unlike any other drill they have a solid Spear
shaped large piece of Tungsten carbide slotted into the point, they are specially for
cutting through Tile or Glass as they slowly expand the hole as they drill exerting
smaller amounts of pressure than a regular Pilot Drill making them suitable for brittle
materials like Ceramic Tile & Glass etc.
Q: Which Mandrel / Arbor do I
need ?
A: For this size Hole Saw and any
Holesaw 1 1/8" (29mm) or less you need what we call an A1 or A1 SDS Arbor /
Mandrel, it has a thread size of 1/2" which is a standard size this will also fit any
other hole saw you own or buy in the future whether its one of ours or not, we have a
few options the first consideration is the type of Electric Drill, if its a regular
Drill with a regular chuck then the regular A1 TCT Mandrel / Arbor is fine - This has a
TCT Pilot Drill which is replaceable and it has a 3/8" Hex Shaft for gripping in your
Drill, if you are Drilling Tile though you may want to get a Spear Point 7.5mm
Tile Drill and it will fit any of our Mandrels / Arbors Both 3/8" Hex shaft and
SDS.
If you have an SDS Plus Drill then we have
SDS Mandrels also - This also has a TCT Pilot Drill which is replaceable but instead of
having a 3/8" Hex Shaft it has an SDS Plus shaft for gripping in your Drill, the
Mandrel / Arbors have slots milled into the spline to enable them to slide into an SDS
Drill chuck for quick Drill changes.
Don't worry though If you dont know what
SDS is - You have not got one!!
Q : Are the Pilot drills Replaceable?
A: Yes all TCT Pilot Drills and Spear Point
Pilot Drills are replaceable, by means of a hex screw and replacements are
always available here in our Store.
Q : What if I want to Drill a Hole
Deeper than the height of the Hole Saw?
A: Simple - go to our Ebay Store and
purchase the Mandrel / Arbor Extenion, this fits onto the 3/8" Hex shaft of our A1 and
A2 Mandrels , then you drill as far as you can, remove the hole saw from the hole and
break out the core then just keep doing the same thing until you are
through.
Q: How Long will the Hole saw last?
A: We expect to get 30-40 holes at least out
of each Hole saw, obviously depending on the material and how you look after the tool,
but don't worry if you do manage to wear them out completely we always have product in
stock so even on the hole saw kits you do not have to replace the whole kits we sell
all sizes individually.
A couple of tips to get the best out of the
blades, some of these are obvious but you would be surprised.
1. Always double check the Pilot Drill
is firm and tight and check it with a Hex / Allen Key - if it spins you will obviously
just sit in the same place grinding the grit off the hole saw.
2. If Drilling Masonry items like Brick and
Concrete always use the Hammer Drill Setting so it clears the debris from the hole.
Keep the hole saw as cool as you can by dipping in water and allowing it to cool
between uses.
3. If drilling Deep Holes - break the core
out as you go or you wont get anywhere.
4.
Screw the hole saw down as tight onto the threads as possible and lock the pins in
place all the way in on the larger mandrels. Keep an eye on the locking pins so they do
not back off with the vibration etc, the pins are not designed to be used
extended that will put a huge pressure on them and may cause them to snap.
I use a rubber band placed behind the locking wheel -
this prevents it backing off if I am not watchng etc.
Q: Will Tungsten Carbide Cut High
Density Ceramic, Porcelain and Granite ?

Porcelains Granites and High Density Floor Tiles.
