of The Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus and flying birds on one side

and the image of Jesus Christ posturing over a glowing heart on the other

This striking gold medallion was pruchased by me at the estate jewelry section of a fine jewelry store in Morristown, NJ in 1984. Otherwise I know nothing more about it other than the fact that it is a very strikingly beautiful piece and should be worn and appreciated by one who is either very religious, or one who collects religious icons.

We could not find one difinitive mark stating the quality of gold, but when tested with our tester, it shows up a 10K, so we have listed it as such. Mainly, this is a fantastic piece of religious art with striking detail, and unlike any other we ourselves have seen during research.

Unfortunately we are unable to identify its country of origin, but in trying to identify the meaning behind some of the letters, we found that the 8Y has something to do with area between Spain, Morocco and Alberia along the Alboran Sea.
