Up for auction we have a

Vintage Circa 1950s Men's Black, Dome Top Lunch Box with Plastic Handle; Stamped American Thermos

It appears to have a big letter V with two long, horizontal serifs coming off each side of the top of the letter, which is positioned on the front and center of the top of the lunch box. Our photographs will show this.

This one is Stamped on the bottom of the pail:

"American Thermos..."

But it is hard to read any of the other lettering that is pressed into the bottom of the lunch pail.

If you collect them this early (or this rough), you may know of this one. I don't know if it's rare, but it sure has a lot of character.

We can't say for exactly how long it was carried around, or where it has been, or what was inside even, but we do know that the gentleman who owned this was a Verteran of WW2 and drove halftrack for General Patton in Germany until he sustained injuries during combat that he was awarded the Purple Heart for. Subsequent to that time, the fellow, and this lunch pail, lived out the rest of their lives on the family farm in Upstate New York. All stories point to him being a lovely, gracious fellow, and we are pleased to be offering some of his personal affects to appreciative collectors.
