1977 Turnstyle Records, 12 inch, 33 1/3 RPM Stereo LP, Cat. # , First Pressing, Factory Sealed. Featuring: Jose Mangual with Carlos "Potato" Valdez, Tito Puente, Bobby Rodriguez, Luiz Ortiz, Dick Meza, Jimmy Kropper, Ralph MacDonald, Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, Seldon Powell and others. Titled: "Bayu". Song Titles Include: Mai Kinshasa, Dreamy, Chinatown, Summit, More, Black & Brown Boogie, Sunrise Prince and Bomab a Puerto Rico.
If you're not familiar with this Artist/Title, here's some additional information: "Percussionist Jose Mangual has lent his talents to numerous recordings over the years, many of which have been for some of the most renowned jazz recording artists of all time — Count Basie, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Tito Puente. Born in Juana Dias, Puerto Rico, sometime in 1924, Mangual perfected the bongos, congas, and timbales, which lead to steady session work beginning in the late '40s. Some of the albums that Mangual has appeared on over the years include Basie's April in Paris (1955), Davis' Sketches of Spain (1959), Gillespie's Talkin' Verve (1957), Puente's Babarabatiri (1951), as well as numerous Parker compilations, among many others".
The LP is factory sealed and in mint condition. The shrink is intact and in excellent condition. The cover is very nice. The only issue to report: a few light wrinkles near the upper right corner - nothing serious on this 33 year old SEALED LP!.
