If you're not familiar with Superchunk or this release, here's some additional information: "Perhaps no band was more emblematic of the true spirit of American indie rock during the 1990s than Superchunk, the pride of Chapel Hill, NC. Following the D.I.Y. ethic to the letter, the group operated solely by their own rules, ignoring all passing trends by sticking to their trademark sound — typified by the buzzing guitars and high, impassioned vocals of frontman Mac McCaughan — and rejecting all major-label advances in favor of the unlimited freedom afforded by owning their own company, the highly successful Merge Records. Although Superchunk's resistance to the overtures of the music industry may have deprived them of the wider audience their work deserved, perhaps their greatest legacy remains their unwavering dedication to the indie tradition, a model which other up-and-coming bands often strive to emulate.

The title track of The First Part EP is pulled from 1993's full-length Foolish, and, like "Connecticut," is a driving, hyper-kinetic gem full of shifting dynamics and pent-up tensions. At the heart is the hypnotic riff that kicks off an endlessly repeating guitar line underneath which a programmed house beat provides a driving, pulsing rhythm. The enigmatic lyrics are buried in the mix, almost completely obscured by the waves of distortion that lend the song its texture. The end result is both haunting and exciting, sure to reverberate in the listener's head for days, and makes this EP a must-have for Superchunk fans".

The Vinyl is Near Mint (9-9.5 of 10) in condition Original Heavy Paper Sleeve is also very nice - there are no problems to report.
