Description. We are pleased to offer this fine example of a British folding field camera with a beautiful case of polished mahogany with lacquered brass fittings. Would make a nice addition to a vintage camera collection or an interesting complement to your home's decor. A lovely Valentine's gift for the camera buff in your life...
Research indicates that these cameras were manufactured in London, England, circa 1904-1911, by Houghton Ltd. This camera is numbered 12674. Included in this sale: i) camera ii) tripod iii) plate holder.
Condition. The camera, case (wood and brass fittings), and tripod appear to be in good vintage condition. The leather handle on top of the camera has surface cracking and is detached from one of the two D-rings. The brass lens ring has a slight dent on its right "side" (visible in pic). The bellows are supple but have delaminated in some of the top folds (easily glued) and have some wear on their edges. The camera's wooden mounting plate has been glued to repair a crack.
