In 2008 Austria and Switzerland organised the European championship soccer together.
For this event Steiff made this special bear.
This bear is 28 cm. / 11.2" tall.
He is made out of blond mohair.
He has black safety eyes and a black hand stitched nose.
He is fully jointed and stuffed with synthetic filling.
On his right cheeck is the flag of Austria embroidered.
On his left cheeck the flag of Switzerland.
His shirt can be worn on 2 sides.
1 Side says Grüezli (hallo in Swiss), the other side says Servus (hallo in Austrian)
On his right foot is a a ball, so the bear is ready to play.
Before every big event in Europe an international song is played, called the Internationale.
This is the music of the 9th of Beethoven with the words of a poem from Friedrich von Schiller.
Of coarse this bear has a music box with that tune!
This bear is limited to 1.500 pieces and was made for Austria and Switzerland only.
He comes with a certificate on his arm, a box and a cardboard shipping box.
This bear is brand new and has not been displayed in the store yet.
