THE ARTIST: CHR. AIGENS IS A WELL LISTED DANISH ARTIST. HE ATTENTED THE GERMAN CHURCH SCHOLL ST. PETRI WAS RECOMMENDED TO PROFESSOR VERMEHREN WHO RECOMMENDED HIM TO THE ART ACADEMY OF COPENHAGEN, WHERE HE WAS ACCEPTED IN 1888. HE GRADUATED IN 1890. HE ALSO ATTENDED THE FREE SCHOOL OF ART STUDIES WHERE P.S. KROYER AND TUXEN WERE HIS TUTORS. HE HAS TRAVELLED AND STUDIED IN SWITZERLAND, THE FAROE ISLANDS AND HE SPENT A CONSIDERABLE TIME IN SKAGEN DENMARK IN HIS YOUTH. EXHIBTIONS: CHARLOTTENBORG SPRING 1908-24, 1926-37, 1939-40,ARTISTS FALL 1909-11, CHARLOTTENBORG FALL 1922, YOUNG ARTISTS ASSOCIATION 1912, THE INDEPENDENT1922. FURTHERMORE HE HAS PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS SEPARATE EXHIBITIONS. CHR. AIGENS PRIMARILY PAINTED PORTRAITS AND FIGURES TOGETHER WITH INTERIORS FROM OLD FARMHOUSES AND OLD WORKSHOPS. HE WAS INSPRIRED BY P.S. KROYER, LAU RITS TUXEN AND JULIUS PAULSEN.

IT IS A WONDEFUL PIECE OF ART - PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST EVER MADE BY THIS VERY TALENTED ARTIST.
