THE ARTISTS STYLE: HANS KNUDSENS PAINTINGS SHOWS AN INFLUENCE FROM HIS CONTEMPORARY COLLEGAUE L.A. RING AND ALSO FROM THE ARTIST ALFRED GOTTSCHALCK WHO WAS A CLOSE FRIEND. HE NEVER TRAVELLED ABROAD AND WAS ONLY IN JUTLAND, DENMARK ONCE IN HIS LIFE TIME. HE PREFERRED THE LANDSCAPES IN THE NORTHERN PART OF SJAELLAND (THE MAIN ISLAND OF DENMARK). HE PAINTED IN A VERY REALISTIC WAY THE NEAR SURROUNDINGS: THE LANDSCAPES, THE FOREST ETC. THE WAY THEY WERE DURINGS THE CHANGES OF THE SEASONS VERY OFTEN WITH GREY OR BROWN COLOUR TONES.
