Pre WW II German Beer Stein (w/Steeple Lid) 15" High and weighs over 4 pounds #452 Metrock or METTLACH (not sure) - this is on a hand-written note inside This was gived to my friends mother as a wedding present and it cost $450 new - In very good to excellent condition and the glass is not cracked.
- There is a very little paint splater on the top, but they should easily come off.
- The whole thing needs to be cleaned a little - I did not want to do it because of the age of the stein.
- There is one little chip on the top of the man blowing the horn (about 1/8" on the top of his hat - this could easily be painted.)
On the bottom: Germany 452 On the side it has Der Abschied (Imbossed letters) And Behut dich Gott es war so schon gewesen (Imbossed letters around the base of the stein) There is a handwritten note inside: Metrock (or Mitrock) stein, wedding present, over 100 years old, $450 Abschied means when someone means "Farewell". " Der Abschied" as though a special occasion. The next saying, May God take care of you, it has bin nice. |
