CS 216 - 1993 "Founder Series" - Adolphus Busch
1st in the Founder series of steins. This intricate decorated and handpainted stein is a faithful reproduction of the original Adolphus Busch Mettlach stein produced by the renowned Villeroy & Boch. The unique lid, pewter with ceramic inlay, features the Anheuser-Busch ® A&Eagle ® company symbol. The detailed pewter thumbrest depicts an elaborate eagle design.
Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. This stein has the number 005,500 on the bottom.
This stein has never been used, is from a smoke free home, and includes box.

Stein History:
On March 7,1861 Adolphus married Lilly Anheuser. He got involved in in-laws Bavarian Brewery, and became a full partner in 1869. Adolphus worked hard open new markets and introduce new technologies and modernize the business.
In 1879 the company was renamed Anheuser-Busch Brewing association in recognition of his efforts.
In 1880 he became president of the brewery with the death of his father-in-law Eberhard Anheuser. For the next two decades he worked tirelessly to develop Anheuser-Busch into a leader of the brewing industry, achieving the million barrel mark in 1901. This intricately decorated and hand painted stein is a faithful reproduction of the original Adolphus Busch Mettlach stein.
