houses 3 large decanters (2 original decanters, 1 replaced) (all three
decanters include stoppers) , a removable cigar cutter, a removable refuse bin
with match striker attached to front, 2 removable silver-plated ashtrays
(hallmarked “WMFM”), two compartments
with poker chips (chips are probably not original), two drawers for holding
playing cards, pens, pencils, tablets, matches and what-not.
Cabinet measures: 14” high in back (7" in front) x 14" wide x 12" deep. Overall condition is VERY GOOD Structurally,
the chest is sound. There are no cracks,
chips or gouges in the wood. The moldings at the bottom of one corner do not meet exactly (see picture). Key and locking
mechanism function as they should. One decanter's stopper seems to be stuck (we did not attempt to loosen it). Two stoppers have various small chips on the bottom (see picture). The silver-plate on the two ashtrays is very worn through to the base metal which is brass. All brass
hardware and decoration have acquired a wonderful patina. This cabinet displays beautifully!!
