The Lefton China Co was founded by George Zontan, who came to the Unites States from Hungary in 1939. He determined that there would be a sizeable market for quality porcelain china dishes and decorative pieces and proceeded to contract for them from Japan, long noted for lovely hand painted items. I cannot begin to imagine how many different items bore the Lefton Crown and familiar red and gold sticker
Lefton Red Robin Figurine--Porcelain bisque bird standing on leaves with red berries--Measures 4 inches tall x 3 ½ inches long x 1 ½ inches wide.—The marks are clear, the Lefton Hand Painted Red Robin KW464--Very good condition. The familiar red and gold sticker is missing but otherwise this is a near perfect figurine.
