You are being presented with a very nice example of a Pennsylvania Slip Decorated Redware Plate.  The slip decoration is very strong and the glaze is that undeniable Pennsylvania Pumpkin color.  This Pennsylvania Slip Redware would have been used as an every day utilitariun piece in the early 1800's.  It measures 10 7/8 inches in diameter and is 2 3/8 inches in height.  There is some wear around the rima as well as in the center, but otherwise, this plate is in beautiful condition.
