On the 10th link there is writing that says "THE D.F.B CO", on the 11th link it says “Carmen” and on the 10th link from the opposite direction is says "MADE IN THE USA". The front looks worn but the gold color is still present. It does not have a penny smell to it which can often be present on worn plated items. The heart that connects the links together is gold. It has 2 hearts engraved one on top of the other and the top one has the letter “PM” engraved on it. The main heart has little beading around it and wavy lines going around the boarder on the outer heart. The heart measures 7/8th inches by 7/8th inches and this sweetheart bracelet fits wrist sizes approximately 5.5 inches to 7 inches.
The DFB Co./Carmen mark was actually the D. F. Briggs Co. in Attleboro, Mass. The only thing I can actually tell you is that they were active in the early 1930's. This bracelet is one that would be considered a "Sweetheart" bracelet. They were made in many styles during 1930's and 40's. Some were made with a locket on the top.
