bref history of tanzanite :

 

discovered in 1967 in the hills of mount Killimanjaro in Tanzania originaly called "blue zosite", then marketed by no other than Tiffany under the name Tanzanite . The mines are geting to be rapidly depleted along with legislation in Tanzania that banned the sale of rough tanzanite in 2003, so is getting harder for this pretty stone to be aveable and this is the only place in the world so far that the deposit exist, when is gone is gone .

the biggest tanzanite stone is 737 carats.
