A Flying Trip to the Tropics: A Record of an Ornithological Visit by Wirt Robinson It was published in 1895 by the Riverside Press and this is the rare First Edition. The book measures 7 x 9.5-inches in size and contains 194 pages including gorgeous, full-page, color plates with tissue guards. (Note: color plates are so identified in the list of illustrations below.) The text consists of a trip to Columbia, South America and the Island of Curacao, West Indies. See photos for contents.

This book in in very good plus condition. It has clean covers with age darkening to the edges and spine. There is a light scuff on the rear cover and light bumps to the bottom corners, but no exposure of cloth on the corners or fraying to the spine ends. Former owner's name/location/date on the front blank page, otherwise no other markings. Clean text pages with no age spotting or soiling except for one small spot on back of the fold out map. Minimal damage to pages--a pin hole in the bottom corner of first three pages; 1/2-inch edge tear/crease in fore-edge of title page, and a 1-inch tear where the fold-out map is attached to book. All color plates and tissue guards are present with no damage except for a tiny bit of age spotting along the fore-edge of the last plate in the book. Solid front hinge with no cracks and cracked rear hinge, but still tightly attached. Binding remains tight and square. A very nice copy of a very rare book!
