You are bidding on a rare copy of Reminiscences of Rev. Jno. H. McLean A.M., D.D. by Rev. McLean. Glued into the book, between the dedication and introduction pages, is a letter from the author, dated 1916, indicating his intention to write this autobiography. The book was self-published in 1918 and printed by the Smith & Lamar Publishing Company for the author. It measures 5.5 x 7.75-inches in size and contains 322 pages. McLean came to Texas in 1839 and this book contains many details of early Texas history not found elsewhere. See photos for contents. This book is in very good condition. It has clean covers with a small bit of edge rubbing and a small bubble in the cloth in the middle of the front bottom edge. No exposure or bumps to the cover corners. Former owner's last name and a 1918 date on back of the front cover. Otherwise, clean throughout with no other markings or soiling. No damage to pages other than a bit of age-darkening (a bit of age-spotting on the page edges). No cracks to interior hinges. Binding remains tight and square. A very nice copy of this rare title!
