Up for purchase is a hardback copy of Lehrbuch der Naturgeschichte für Schulen and zum Selbstunterricht: 16, vermehrte und verbesserte by Dr. G. H. von Schubert.  It was published in 1849 by Verlag Carl Heyder of Erlangen, Germany with no other dates/printings indicated (Forward dated 1849 as well).  The book measures 4.25 x 7.5-inches in size and contains 499 pages including an index, but has no contents page.  An interesting book on natural history just prior to Darwin.  See photos for more details.

This book is in worn condition but complete.  The marbled-paper covers are well rubbed with chipping around the edge.  Darkening to the spine with small chips at the ends.  Corners and edges are worn through, but corners are not bumped.  Quill name on front blank page and another name quilled on back of rear cover (upside down).  There is an ink spot on the page fore-edges beginning with the title page and getting smaller to page 14.  The pages are in very good condition with no tears, corner creases, chips, etc., but the pages have age-spotting throughout.  No markings to text, but I noted one page that had some penciled margin notes along the fore-edge.  The pages are still tightly bound together, but the cover is detached.  A worn but complete book.
