You are bidding on a rare booklet entitled The Messenger Bird. This is one is a series of annual Christmas publications by William and Leslie Denman. Each booklet contained a full-page color print. This one contains a print of the "Big Bird Design" taken from a painting by Kiowa artist Monroe Tse To Ke. It is a key symbolic figure in their peyote ceremonies. The booklets were printed between circa 1946 and 1952 by The Grabhorn Press of San Francisco in a limited number of 500. Like most of them, this one has no date, but is believed to have come from 1946. The booklet measures 8.75 x 11.25-inches in size and contains 16 pages. Each booklet was hand bound by string. This booklet is in very good condition. It has clean covers with darkening to the edges, small corner creases, and a bit of scuffing in the middle of the bottom edge. Clean interior with no markings or soiling. No damage to pages other than some small light creases. Sting binding remains tight and square. A very nice copy! See my other auctions for several more Denman booklets.Buyer's have the right to request from me other forms of payment. Shipping and handling is $3.00 via USPS media rate mail.
