You are bidding on a very rare set of polychrome gray metal bookends that depict a young boy reading a book. The set was manufactured circa 1920 by the K&O Metal Novelties Company (1895-1939) with their mark on the rear side (seen in photos). The base measures 4 1/8 x 3 1/4-inches in size, and stands 5 1/4-inches in height. One bookend weighs 25.6 ounces and the other one weighs 26.3 ounces. See photos for more details. This set is in mint condition and appears brand new except for a couple of pin-head-sized nicks to the back of the boy on one bookend. No cracks or chips in the metal surfaces.
