You are bidding on a set of large antique bookends that are listed in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends simply as Vanderbilt. The figure is not a member of the well-known Vanderbilt family and I was told it was a Chancellor of Vanderbilt University, but that may be in error as well. They are bronze clad and were manufactured circa 1915. I find no markings on them. The base measures 6.5 x 3-inches and the height is 8.5-inches. There is a felt pad on the bottoms. One bookends weighs 77 ounces and the other one weighs 80 ounces. These antique bookends are in excellent condition. They have no cracks or broken parts. Damage is limited to wear on the felt pads, a couple of tiny edge dings, and a bit of rubbing to the edges. A near mint, very heavy set! See my Store for many more antique bookends in nice condition!. Buyer's have the right to request from me other forms of payment. Winning bidder to pay $15.00 in USPS Priority shipping and handling. Bookends usually ship out within three days of receipt of payment. Note to foreign buyers: The posted shipping is for U.S. only shipments. Foreign shipments at extra S&H--see payment details. Import duties, taxes and any other charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Please check with your country's custom office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. On Jan-24-10 at 21:24:20 PST, seller added the following information:
