Up for purchase is an antique monochrome gray metal bookend set that depicts Dante sitting on a bench from a sculpture by Mantarani(?). It was manufactured by the K&O (Kronheim and Oldenbusch) Metal Novelties Company circa 1930. Manufacturer's mark is on the rear side (seen in photos). There is also a note written on the rear of one bookend that is barely visible, and I can only make out the words "comedy" and "life." The base measures 4 x 3.5-inches in size and stands 6-inches high. One bookend weighs 56.6 ounces and the other one weighs 71.0 ounces. See photos for more details. These bookends are in mint condition showing no cracks, dents, or other damage. There is a scant bit of rubbing to the paint on the tips of the shoes and rear edges. A choice set! See my Store for many more antique bookends in nice condition!. Buyer's have the right to request from me other forms of payment. Winning bidder to pay $15.00 in USPS Priority shipping and handling. Bookends usually ship out within three days of receipt of payment. Note to foreign buyers: The posted shipping is for U.S. only shipments. Foreign shipments at extra S&H--see payment details. Import duties, taxes and any other charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Please check with your country's custom office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. On Oct-24-10 at 18:56:44 PDT, seller added the following information:
