Up for purchase is a set of gray metal bookends that depict a mare with her colt on a marble base. They were manufactured circa 1932 by J. B. Hirsch with their manufacturer's mark on the back of the mare's neck. The marble base measures 5 x 3.5-inches in size and it stands 7-inches high to the tip of the ears. One bookend weighs 47.3 ounces and the other one weighs 46.6 ounces. See photos for more details. These bookends are in excellent condition. The metal surfaces are in mint condition, showing no dents, cracks, holes, or loss to paint. The only damage to the marble bases are some barely visible corner nicks. An exceptionally nice set!
