You are bidding on a set of antique polychrome solid iron bookends that depict the head of an American Indian. They were manufactured circa 1928 by Z-R (barely visible mark on rear side in left corner) with their shopmark number 44 on the rear side in the right corner. There is also the number 4 stamped into the middle of the rear side. The base measures 4 1/8 x 2-inches in size, and it stands 6.25-inches in height. One bookend weighs 25.8 ounces and the other one weighs 28.3 ounces. See photos for more details. This set is in excellent condition! There are no cracks, chips, or dents in the metal surfaces. There is also no damage to the paint other than a scant bit of rubbing around the bottom edge. It is difficult to imagine a set in better condition that these two antique bookends.
