Up for purchase is a set of bronze clad books that depict Pierrot (17th Cen. Italian comedian--see Wikipedia for details) sitting on a stump playing a mandolin. They were manufactured circa 1925 with no manufacturer's mark on them. The base measures 2.75 x 4.3-inches in size, and it stands5.5-inches high. One bookend weighs 35.4 ounces and the other one weighs 34.4 ounces. See photos for more details. These bookends are in very good condition. There are no cracks, holes, or chips to the metal surfaces. The only damage are two small dents on one vertical base edge (seen in second photo below). There is a small casting indentation on the back of one bookend (seen near the armpit in the first photo below--left side bookend). The paint is in excellent condition with no missing paint, just rubbing of the patina to some of the high areas. A very nice set! See my Store for many more antique bookends in nice condition!.
