You are bidding on a set of polychrome bronze clad antique bookends that depict a pirate holding a sword and leaning against a tree trunk. They were manufactured circa 1928 by Armor Bronze with their name on the rear (seen in photos). The base measures 4.25 x 3.5-inches in size, and it stands 10.5-inches in height, which is extremely tall for most bookends. One bookend weighs 42.6 ounces and the other one weighs 38 ounces. See photos for more details. These bookends are in very good condition. There are no cracks or chips in the metal surfaces. There is a bump to the rim of the hat on each bookend, some waves in the swords, and the felt pad on the bottom is nearly wore off on one bookend. The painted surfaces have a few areas where the paint has been rubbed off. I'd estimate about a 5% loss and it is therefore not readily noticeable. The painting is unusual in that the gold paint from the torso area appears as runs on the pants in a couple of areas, but may have been part of the design. A nice set showing only a few blemishes. See my Store for many more antique bookends in nice condition!. Buyer's have the right to request from me other forms of payment. Winning bidder to pay $15.00 in USPS Priority shipping and handling. Bookends usually ship out within three days of receipt of payment. Note to foreign buyers: The posted shipping is for U.S. only shipments. Foreign shipments at extra S&H--see payment details. Import duties, taxes and any other charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.
