Up for purchase is a set of gray metal bookend that depict the head of a horse after a sculpture by Chavalas. They were manufactured circa 1947 by Saxton, Inc. with their name on each bookend along with their tag on the bottom of each book. The base measures (at the widest points) 5.3 x 6.5-inches in size, and it stands 6.5-inches high. One bookend weighs 43.3 ounces and the other one weighs 49.2 ounces. See photos for more details. These bookends are in excellent condition. They show no damage other than two barely visible nicks along the top edge of the mane on one horse (seen in 3rd from last photo below). There is also a scant bit of loss to the paint on the edge of the bases. This is an exceptionally nice set! See my Store for many more antique bookends in nice condition!.
