MODEL: Here is a wonderful Gibson LG-2 X braced guitar. Dates between 1948 to 1950 with a serial number or batch number stamped on neck block of 3102 see photo(Gibson is famous during this period with their random & confusing numbers dating system). This model has X-bracing which is known to produce outstanding tone and it does.Notice the outstanding killer sunburst on this one. I've seen quite a few of these from the 50's and 60's but Gibson's from this era in my opinion have an exceptional sunburst finish and this one really looks amazing.Comes with the orignal Gibson gator style case in good usable condition.
CONDITION: For being 60 years old it is in outstanding condition. No cracks on the back body or sides. The top has one very tight hairline just below the soundhole but doesn't appear to go completely through and you have to look closely to see it (see photo).The guitar looks to be all original (the white bridge pins look old but they came in black on this model I believe).The finish has average checking for it's age and there are various nicks, scratches etc. but nothing serious.The neck is straight and tight to the body and the action is superb on this beauty meaning no usual neck re-set is needed with the height of the low E string at 3/32" at the 12th fret.....pretty rare to find that for a guitar this old.Fret wear is medium with some medium wear on the first three frets of the finger board as seen in photos.Inside I can see that one or two of the back braces has been re-glued at some point and they all look very tight and secure as I see or feel nothing lose or rattling at all.The Gibson's from this era are something truly special. This one is no exception.She plays easily and the tone is something you just don't hear very often. Perfect and well balanced with rich warm lows and bell like highs. A finger pickers nirvana !! If you are looking for that old bluesy tone machine you couldn't do much better.Reserve is very fair. Please bid with confidence and thank you for looking !!

I had a question about the tuners being original or not which I forgot to talk about in the listing so my apologies on that. I am guessing they are original to the guitar based on others I've seen for a comparison but I can not guarantee they weren never swaped out over the last 60 years due to the fact I am not the original owner. Hope this helps.
Also questions regarding overseas shipping....... apparently the shipping calculator is not working properly ?
