Description:

 MODEL: Gibson LG-2 either a 1949 or 1950 with a serial number or batch number stamped on neck block of 3102. This model has X-bracing which is known to produce outstanding tone.Comes with the orignal Gibson gator style case in fair condition but usable condition. 

CONDITION: For being 60 years old it is in outstanding condition. No cracks on the body. The top has one very tight hairline split just below the soundhole and doesn't appear to go completely through and you have to look closely to see it (see photo).The guitar looks to be all original (the white bridge pins look old but they came in black on this model I believe). The pickguard is in great shape and normally you would find it to be lifting with some damage but not on this one.The finish has average checking for it's age and there are various nicks, scratches etc. but nothing serious.The bridge is tight and flush to the body.The top is flat with no issues.The neck is straight and tight to the body and the action is superb on this beauty with the height of the low E string at 3/32" at the 12th fret.....pretty rare to find that for a guitar this old.Fret wear is medium with some ruts on the first three frets on the finger board as seen in photos.Inside I can see that one of the back braces has been repaired/glued at some point and they all look very tight and secure as I see or feel nothing lose or rattling.A strap button has been added to the heel but who knows when.These Gibson's from this era are something truly special. This one is no exception.She plays easily and the tone is something you just don't hear very often. Perfect and well balanced with rich warm lows and bell like highs. A finger pickers nirvana !! If you are looking for an old bluesy tone machine you couldn't do much better.
