One of the best L-50 examples I've seen. Looks dare I say unused ? Well almost. No issues with the body at all no cracks,no spilts. Neck is straight and action is low at the 12th fret -3/32". S/N starts with a "Y" dating it to 1953. New plastic tuner buttons were added to replace the old and brittle ones.Original trapeze tailpiece included but not on guitar due to the hinge bracket broke while I was changing the strings so I had a vintage 1959 nickel tailpiece from a Gibson ES 330 which is the same exact one except for a slight difference in the hinge shape(see pic) and actually is an extra bonus because this tailpiece sells for $200-$250 when you can find it and you could always buy another one and sell this one.Gibson factory added "stinger" on back of headstock(Gibson did this in the1950's to cover up any imperfections in the wood grain even on Les Pauls).Last photo shows some seperation of the binding about 4" in length. It's stable but should be glued up at some point down the road ? Bottom line she plays and looks great and sounds even better. Pretty loud projection for a jazz guitar with that sweet jangly tone. Comes with a vintage era case in poor condition.
