Original Turtle Painting on Wood
This unusual original painting was done on a 1/2 inch thick sliver of a tree and includes the bark around the edges. The oval measures 10 3/4 inches wide by 7 inches. The colors are vibrant and detailed with actual moss type material glued around the edges near the bottom half to give it more of a three dimension feeling. I am almost certain it is painting with acrylic paint. This is a charming little painting of a turtle sitting on a log that is resting in the water with a water lily painted in the foreground.
The painting is signed on the back "Painted Turtle - Painted by Hope 6/08" and was purchased at a local Arts and Craft Fair in Florida. There is no hook on the back of this painting for hanging on the wall but it should be fairly easy to apply one. There does appear to be a very thin coat of lacquer to the surface of the painting.
