Gorham Porcelain Doll – Ashley is a Rare Limited Edition 544/2500 

 

Ashley measures approximately 21 1/5 inches tall as shown on stand (stand not included). Ashley is a Limited Edition (544/2500) and is exquisitely dressed in an elaborately detailed ecru satin and silk dress with pearl trim; styled in the Victorian era. Rows of ecru beige lace adorn this dress. Her lace and floral covered hat is absolutely exquisite and has an elastic band to hold it in place. She has satin shoes adorned with a pearl and lace doily and leather sole. She wears lace stockings, silk pantaloons with ribbon ties at the ankles, and an equally embellished petticoat with lace trim and pale pink ribbon. Ashley's plays a beautiful 18 note musical movement of "Tara's Theme" and there is a key that comes with her for winding. The winding mechanism is on her upper back. The music box was tested to make sure it plays correctly. She is in good condition (she has never been played with but was displayed in a glass fronted shelf for approximately two years.)

 

*Imperfections: She has a small smudge on the back of her hat (see photos) and some fading on the top pale pink poof layer of her dress. The fading is not very noticeable during normal display unless you inspect the dress carefully or photograph her closely using a camera flash. In some areas the poof looks to be pale pink and other places it appears to be ecru beige. It is because of these imperfections, the doll’s price has been slashed to $349.00 which includes free insured shipping.  (We were only able to find one other Ashley doll on the internet and it was listed for $640.00 without the box so we feel this is a very good deal for her).

 

·         Ashley is a Gorham Limited Edition Collection; is made of the finest porcelain and is hand painted.

·         Ashley's arms, legs, face and neck area are all made of porcelain.

·         Ashley's  body is made of cloth, not porcelain.

·         She wears a Golden bracelet with the letter "G" (Gorham) as a charm.

·         She is a very collectible doll because the Gorham Company no longer makes dolls. 

·         Gorham stopped making dolls in 1994 and this doll is minted in 1983.

·         Ashley has only had one owner and was in a smoke free air conditioned home since 1983 ~ 28 years!!!

·         She comes with her original White box (shows little wear and is quite acceptable). Check photos for condition.

·         Doll stand NOT included.

·         Comes with a key to wind her music box located on her upper neck area.

·         Ashley is numbered 544 of 2500 made.
