Gorham Porcelain Doll Collection – Alexandria 1981 Musical

 

Alexandria was one of the first dolls made by Gorham minted in 1981. She measures approximately 18" tall (including hat). She is dressed in a top coat of hunter green velvet with lace trim and gold buttons. Her Victorian style cream colored silk dress has a high collar trimmed with peach ribbon. The full skirt is also trimmed with peach ribbon and her waist is cinched with a peach ribbon belt. She also wears cream colored pantaloons with lace trim and stockings and brown leather shoes. Her music box plays "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and was tested to make sure it plays correctly (the winding mechanism is located on her upper back underneath her dress and comes with a key for winding). She is in excellent condition. She has been in storage in her original box for a majority of her life. She was displayed in a glass fronted cabinet for approximately one year in 1981.

 

·         Alexandria is a Gorham Collection; is made of the finest porcelain and is hand painted.

·         Alexandria's arms, legs, face and neck area are all made of porcelain.

·         Alexandria's body is made of cloth, not porcelain.

·         She wears a Golden bracelet with the letter "G" (Gorham) as a charm.

·         She is a very collectible doll because the Gorham Company no longer makes dolls. 

·         Gorham stopped making dolls in 1994 and this doll is minted in 1981.

·         Alexandria has only had one owner and was in a smoke free air conditioned home since 1981 ~ 30 years!!!

·         She comes with her original Brown box (shows extreme wear, is in only fair condition at best). Check photos for condition.

·         Includes a sturdy doll stand with wooden dark stained round base.
