Books of Hours, are prayer books intended for private devotion, are some of the most spectular of the medieval illuminated manuscripts ever created. Volumes of such superb quality as this example are extremely rare, and this Book of Hours is an exceptional example of some of the finest works of art of the late Middle Ages.
