Etlingera elatior 'Red Torch' Ginger
	Etlingera elatior cv. 'Red Torch', best known as 'Red Torch' Ginger is a commonly cultivated ginger that provides an attractive tropical feel to the garden. The plant grows in clumps forming tall banana leaves up to approximately 3 metres. Tall majestic red flowers grow from the base of the plant during the summer, which are long lasting on the stem or in a vase of water.   Grows best in rich soil with moisture and full sun to part shade in an area protected from the wind. Frost tolerate to an occasional 10 degree C. Feed well during the growing season.   Truly a must for any ginger garden!   Your ginger will arrive as a very hardy rhizome with new growth and significant root structure. The plant stem will be cut back for safety in transport. Soon after planting, new growth should soon emerge. All orders are processed on Monday after payment is received. Your plant rhizome will be removed from our planting beds and prepared for shipment as a fresh bare rooted rhizome. The roots will be washed and wrapped in moist paper and protected for shipment.
