Heliconia rostrata 'Lobster Claw'
	This item is sold as one fresh bare root rhizome with new growth. Heliconia rostrata is a well recognized, very popular and saught after for its beautiful flowers. The mature plant grows up to 2 meters and will normally start to flower in the summer, with hanging inflorescenct flowers that last long on the stem and make an excellent cut flower. It is easy to grow and is fast growing. Bright shade is ideal with good moisture in the air and in well draining organic rich soil. Sheltered areas are best to avoid strong winds, as this can shred the leaves. As with most heliconias, the rostrata performs best in warm and humid climates.  All orders are processed on Monday after payment is received. Your plant rhizome will be removed from our planting beds and prepared for shipment as a fresh bare rooted rhizome. The roots will be washed and wrapped in moist paper and protected for shipment. All plants are shipped in recycled material.   We have many rhizomes available so make sure you ask us about our combined shipping.
