Brian Blood began his professional life twenty-three years ago as a graphic artist and art director in Boston, Massachusetts. Although Blood's career was successful, he still wanted to be a fine art painter. He moved across the country to San Francisco, enrolled at the Academy of Art College, and shortly received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Art.

For the past fifteen years Brian Blood has been painting full time as well as returning to teach at his alma mater in the Fine Art department. "I love to see the looks on the faces of students as they begin to understand the thrill of painting outdoors," he says with great satisfaction.

Primarily a plein-air painter, Blood has recently moved to the picturesque Monterey Peninsula. "After living in San Francisco for the last 15 years, I can really concentrate and focus on my work here in Monterey," Blood reveals. Point Lobos and Garrapata State Park, two of his favorite subjects to explore and paint are only minutes away. He also enjoys traveling down the California coastline and painting in the southland areas.

Events and Exhibitions for 2004 have included the Monterey Museum of Art, Winner, Best of Show, San Louis Obispo Plein Air Competiton, Winner of both the People's Choice and Artist's Choice Awards at the Carmel Art Festival, Winner of the Landscape Award of Excellence, Greenhouse Gallery Salon in San Antonio, TX, Winner of the Jack Richardson Award of Excellence, Oil Painters of America National Exhibition in Kirkland, WA. Plein Air Paintout events include, Paint the Parks, Rocky Mountain National Park, Telluride Plein Air, Sonoma Plein Air and Paint the Sierras.
Brian is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, The Northern California Painters Group and the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.

Blood is an Artist Member of the California Art Club and has been featured in publications such as Southwest Art, Art of the West, Artists Magazine, Coast Magazine and American Artist. His works have been sold at Sotheby's, Butterfields, Christie's and John Moran's American Impressionist sales. Brian has been recently honored as Outstanding Alumn and awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. (end)

The low resolution of the eBay picture here may make this look a bit blurry or almost out of focus. The actual print you will receive is very crisp and clear, just as the artist had intended it.
